Step back in time when houses were made from local materials found right on the property. Experience the charm of construction before the days of levels and perfect fits, yet the craftsmanship was so remarkable that somehow things not only fit, but withstood the trials of time. As you climb the stone steps in front of the house, note how each step has a different height before you arrive on the stone deck where rocking chairs and a wood bench await your use and delight.
Containing 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, a living room and a family room, the house is perfect for a medium to large family. It can be enjoyed by 6 or more people as an extended family, or by 2 smaller related or close families with one family getting one bedroom, one bath and the living room while the other family gets the second bedroom, second bath and the family room for kids, while sharing the kitchen, dining area, and common areas like the front porch.
Each of the living room and family room are equiped with a televison with dvd/vhs player. The television in the family room is a large flat screen TV, along with a stereo with 5 cd player and large floor speakers. The family room also has a comfortable couch that is convertible into a bed, a recliner, 3 more arm chairs, and a bumper pool table. The house is heated with a gas furnace, but the family room also contains a gas heater that helps keep the house warm and cozy even in the coldest weather.
All rooms are furnished with comfortable and suitable furniture and furnishings, including high quality matresses in the bedrooms. The kithchen contains all new appliances, including a refrigerator with ice maker, gas stove, microwave, coffee maker and dishwasher, as well as all normally required kitchen utensils, pots and glassware. A utility room contains the clothes washer and clothes dryer, as well as a gas powered water heater. One bath has a tub and shower, while the other contains a shower. There is also a “mud room” at the back of the house off the kitchen that guests are asked to utilize if needed to clean their feet before entering the house and this area is also suitable for storing skis or other outdoor equipment.
Enjoy a unique experience when you stay in this very cool house that is literally a taste of history, but with modern kitchen and plumbing as well as modern comforts and features like Dish Network TV and even Wi Fi if you want/need to maintain some contact with modern times. But don't you just yearn sometimes to just get away from it all? If so, or if you like architecture, historic structures, or just the beauty of some outstanding stone work (this house is NOT the rock veneer that one sees mostly today), then we believe you will really enjoy this comfortable and charming house.
